For Portuguese nationals, it will now be possible to change a citizen’s address, alter a name, request a criminal record, renew or cancel the Citizen Card (“CC”), all via a registered smartphone. For children, it will become mandatory to request the document within 20 days after registration of birth. In addition, the validity of the card passes from five to ten years for those over 25 years.
